Hairstyle Trends for Spring & Summer 2017

So what’s gonna be hot for hair when the weather turns warmer? The new hairstyle trends for spring and summer, 2009, characterize a variety of styles that will flatter hair of any length, whether it’s short, long or in-between.

There’s something for everyone! Looking for change? Get a haircut that allows you to wear a practical style for daytime and a more flirty look for the evening hours.

Long Hairstyles

Wavy, textured hair brings a tousled, feminine look. If your hair is long and thick, this is easy to achieve because textured and shaped hair allows you more control with your hair style. Simply wash your hair, add some mousse and blow dry your hair on low. Use a curling iron and finger-comb the layers. For piecey chunks, apply styling wax on the ends to separate.

For a simple, sleek and smooth look, straight hair can look great on almost anyone, reflecting light and enhancing shine. If you have natural waves, you don’t need to blow-dry. Simply use a flat iron to straighten it out section by section after you let it air dry. Set the style with hair spray and stay away from rain or heavy humidity.

Short Hair

Want less fuss with a short hairstyle? Ask your stylist for heavy layers to add dimension, fullness, and bounce. Boyish, yet feminine, this is the easiest cut to wash and style. If you prefer more than a basic bob, look for an asymmetrical cut to update your look and keep you on the edge.

Ringlets that are too tight look old-fashioned and Victorian. Keep your short curls loose and natural. Finger comb and tousle your tresses when slightly wet for a true romantic look. Face-framing layers will help make a basic hairstyle more versatile and add much needed movement.

Whatever your hair length, this year’s parts are leaning towards the center. What looks best on you may depend on the shape of your head, if you have bangs, and if they will also part to reveal a portion of your forehead. If you prefer a side part, forgo the center and wear it where you wish. Not every trend looks good on everyone.

The current trend for bangs is soft and side-swept, exposing only part of your forehead. To look anything but ordinary, opt for angled bangs to accentuate your unique style. Whilst bangs require more frequent maintenance, they’re great for covering up a long forehead, flaws, or lines.

Ponytails are back in a big way. With their practicality, getting ready for a casual or formal event is a snap. Soft waves add sensuality to a basic ponytail. For any texture of hair, set high or low, what’s classic is now trendy. Try combing your hair back with your fingers for a slightly imperfect, messed-up hairdo.

Color & Highlights Trends

Sexy, feminine highlights are always in style. Chunky highlights give way to subtle. Spring brings popular multi-tone highlights and lowlights for several shades of color that adds dimension and reflects the light. A great haircut combined with delicate highlights ensure that you will look classy at special events and in pictures. Trendy and stylish, this summer promises to bring some of the most exciting hairstyles we’ve seen in years. What better time is there to update your tresses?

Whether it is for a personal use, a social occasion, catwalk show or even a magazine shoot – our versatile and durable styles is aimed at creating a variety of stunning looks with that added sophistication. Wig-O-Mania will strive continuously to ensure our Customers do not buy because they are being marketed to or sold to, instead they buy because we will help them realize the merits of owning what we offer.

With the help and support of UK Trade & Investment – London and Mumbai office, Wig-O-Mania has conducted a comprehensive market research into the Hair and Wigs Industry in the region with a special focus on Mumbai & Delhi. There are two broad segments of the market that its products can be of value – namely Fashion and Necessity Wearers.

It has realised that the most urgent and alarmingly neglected segment are the Necessity Wearers. These include but not limited to those girls and ladies within the age bracket of 15 to 60 who suffer from Hair Loss. Needless to say that Hair on the head is considered a lady’s ‘crown & glory’ and hence for whatever reason if they begin to lose it, the psychological effect it has on her self-esteem and confidence is beyond words. The most common cause of Hair Loss is Alopecia and temporary loss of hair due to Cancer treatment – Chemo Therapy.

Wig-O-Mania’s Wigs are specially designed to cater to the Indian Market with special emphasis on the Necessary Wearers. The focus is presently on those girls and ladies who undergo Chemo Treatment and are told that among the many side effects it will have, one would be an immediate hair loss. Our Products also cater to ladies who are tormented by hair thinning or Alopecia resulting in patches of baldness on the head. Our Synthetic Wigs are made from the high end fibre which not only looks but also feels like natural hair. We also promote a special type of fibre that is as versatile as Human Hair and hence one can curl, straighten and style it too up to 180 degrees heat. Its maintenance is simply and easy and they can be washed and cleansed too with a normal shampoo. Wigs are now easy and comfortable to wear as they come with a Velcro band, which helps to secure it on one’s head. Hence the age-old fear that it would blow away remains only a myth.

Wearing a Wig-O-Mania Branded Wig is almost like cosmetic surgery for your hair without the pain or the cost.

The stigma has disappeared in the West – UK, Europe, USA about wearing a wig. Wigs were once so obvious that they would be noticed a mile away and hence people were embarrassed. Today with the latest technique and near human hair type look and feel of the fibre used, a person could be stood right next to you and could even be touching your hair and they would not know.

Wig-O-Mania have in its team professionals that have the knowledge and expertise of over 4 decades to answer to all questions that may arise in one’s mind pertaining to Wigs and Hair Pieces. It has realized that people with Cancer are more traumatized by the loss of their hair than being told they have cancer. One of the first questions anyone asks the doctor when they are told about having to undergo Chemo therapy is “will I lose my hair?” The answer in most cases is ‘Yes’ unfortunately.

In UK and Europe, these ladies will seek out a wig before they loose their hair so when the dreaded day comes they can begin wearing their wig and this avoids them having to go through the embarrassment of being seen without their hair. In India such a facility has not been available until now and therefore Wig-O-Mania is now embarked on assisting a handful of companies to offer it directly to the end user.

Wig-O-Mania also proposes to provide a Q&A facility via emails to its HO in United Kingdom where the same will be answered by its panel of experts and could advice on anything pertaining to Hair Pieces.

Wig-O-Mania Product Profile:

Wig-O-Mania’s Synthetic wigs and hairpieces are made with a highly superior Japanese Kanekalon fibre that not only looks like natural European hair but also feels like natural European hair. They come in beautiful colours that never fade. This is a very versatile fibre that retains its shape after washing – as long as one follows the After-Care Instructions that come with the product. Also the fine texture of the fibre makes it a desirable choice for simulating the texture of human hair.

Recently, WOM has introduced the High-Heat Fibre with better features that make the fibre feel “just like human hair” with certain inbuilt characteristics such as being able to use high heat up to 180 degrees. Hence one can curl or tong them and then straighten them again. One can therefore use heated rollers, curling/straightening irons and hair dryers on these products. These have passed tests by our team of experts in the UK. Needless to say all our Fibre is Monocrylic Flame Retardant and Non Flammable.

Human Hair Wigs: These are considered the High End Hair Pieces due to the Remy Human Hair being used. These are more often used by ladies who have a long-term purpose of using a wig. It could well be for fashion or a permanent hair problem too.

The dress was also designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, but in a much simpler manner, so it didn’t overshadow the bride.

Another great pair who made a stunning impression at the Royal Wedding at Westminster Abbey was David and Victoria Beckham. The British couple opted for a classic timeless style, Victoria selection a gorgeous baggy navy boat neck tunic dress from her latest fashion collection, AW 2011. To complete her stunning look pregnant Victoria rocked a gorgeous pair of custom, super-high Christian Louboutin shoes and a lovely Phillip Treacy hat to spice-up her simple sleek ponytail hairstyle.

Another great and edgy appearance was made by Tara Palmer Tomkinson, who strolled into Abbey looking as elegant as ever in a electric blue Kingfisher cocktail dress paired with a gorgeous pair of matching blue peep toe high heel pumps. To complete her look Tara opted for a matching blue hat and clutch.

On the other hand, Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole, opted for a classy light blue Catherine Walker dress, paired with a large brimmed hat by Jane Corbett and a pair of suede neutral/grey heels. The look was flawless and fit for a Royal mom.

Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William’s step mom, opted for a dress by the same designer she chose for her wedding outfit in 2005, when she married Prince Charles. Anna Valentine created a gorgeous two tone champagne and blue coat featuring hand embroidered details around the waistline, coat paired with a lovely matching champagne dress. She completed her look with a gorgeous Phillip Treacy hat and a pair of neutral Jimmy Choo heels.

Wig-O-Mania support Re: PONYTAIL

Question via Email to Support Team:

I purchased 2 pony tails off t.v. from yourselfs but my colour is slighty browner could you please advise me what colour hair dye i would use to nearest match my new ponytails which are Harvest Gold Blend in colour

Thanks for your email.
Without being able to see your hair, I am sorry but we are unable to advise you on which colour to bye.  We would advise you to take your pony tail along with you to your hairdressers so that she can colour your hair accordingly to the desired colour.

You could try the following solution though, if your own hair has some length to it, it doesn’t have to be as long as your new pony tail, you could leave the top section of your own hair out before drawing your own hair back into a pony tail.  Comb this section forward first out of the way.  Now take the rest of your own hair and put it into a pony tail.

You can now attach your new Wig-O-Mania pony tail over your own pony tail.  When you have secured it in place and tightened the drawstring, and before you secure the drawstring, take your own hair from the front and top section which you left out and comb it over the top of the pony tail and then comb it into your new pony.

Then take hold of the end of the drawstring and wrap the elastic around the whole edge of the base & over the top of your own hair that it is over the top of your new pony so that it looks as if it is part of the ponytail.

This will help to blend the colours and make it look like your own pony tail.  It doesn’t matter that it is not exactly the same colour as your own hair, because no ones hair is exactly the same colour throughout due mainly to ultra violet light exposure from sunlight.

Our pony tails  are  made with a synthetic fibre and can not be coloured and any attempt to do so would spoil it.

I hope this helps  and your pony tail will look fabulous and very natural.

Naturally Curly Fine Hair: Frizz-Free

fine-haired curlies have their own set of special needs.  Hopefully this post will help you enhance your curl without weighing it down, and keep frizz to a minimum.

What increases the Frizz-Factor?

  • Lack of moisture and protein in the hair, or damaged hair.  This can be due to coloring, processing, overuse of heat appliances.
  • Humidity.  That dang moisture content in the air upsets the balance of moisture within the hair, thus causing chaos.

Best Practices to keep fine hair frizz-free:

  • Brushing.  If you can avoid it, only comb through your wet-conditioned hair.  Style your hair with your fingers.
  • Drying.  Air-drying is the best choice, followed by loose scrunching with the use of a microfiber towel (Curl Cloths and Cyclic Towels are my favorite).
  • Use duckbill clips on the crown of your head to lift top curls where needed.
  • Although I have yet to try it, many sites recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase to reduce the amount of breakage to the hair and reduce tangles.
  • Keep it light.  Finding the right balance between conditioning and hold, mousses and gels tend to work best.
  • Using a low-suds shampoo and/or co-poo (wash hair using conditioners). Deep condition once a week.
  • Once your curls are dry, rub a little pomade into the palm of your hands and smooth over your hair.

During the day, freshen up limp, droopy curls with some additional moisture by spritzing on Jessicurl’s Awe Inspiraling Spray.  I also *LOVE* Ojon’s Shine & Protect Glossing Mist, as a great way to add instant shine, eliminate fly-aways (aka “chicken feathers”) and combat humidity.

A Curly Cool Tip:  Store your hair sprays in the fridge!  A cool spritzing over a hot head is sure to lift your hair and your spirits!

How To Look After Relaxed Black Hair

A large number of black women have relaxed hair because they find that it is much easier to look after. The chemicals that are used to straighten the hair can cause it to be fragile and some women suffer from hair breakage and dryness.

Once the hair has been relaxed, you will find that you have to have the regrowth touched up every few weeks. To keep the possibility of hair damage to a minimum it is recommended that you get the roots redone every 7 to 8 weeks.

To reduce the breakage, the chemical should only be applied to the virgin hair growth. You do not need to add more cream to the already processed hair.

Never leave the cream on too long. Some black women and even black hairdressers believe that the relaxer should be left on the head until you feel a tingling sensation. However if you are actually feeling any type of sensation it means that the cream has been on too long and has already caused potential damage to the scalp. This can lead to permanent damage to the hair follicles, which could lead to permanent hair loss.

How To Wash Relaxed Hair

You should wash relaxed hair at least once a week. This is definitely a necessity if you use a lot of extra hair products like hair sprays and hair gels. Once a week you can use a really good quality conditioning shampoo that has been specifically created for processed hair.

It is always a good idea to invest in good quality African American hair products like hot oil treatments for your hair in order to replace all the nutrients that are lost during everyday life. Try and find a good conditioner that you can leave in overnight so that it has all that time to get to work.

Styling Relaxed Hair

Most black women will use curling irons or hair straighteners to get the desired hairstyle. These types of appliances really dry out the hair so if you can, try and keep the use to a minimum. Hair rollers are more time consuming but they do less harm to the hair. Always try to apply a protective serum to coat the hair and give it some protection from the heat.

If you have a good relationship with your hairdresser, you should have no problems with your tresses. Make sure to get a trim every 8 weeks or so in order to get rid of split ends and keep your head of hair as healthy as possible.

As a black women, getting your hair relaxed can be a good solution to keeping your hair under control as long as you look after it properly.
